Craig Forman

Craig Forman is a media and technology executive, entrepreneur, and former journalist with a career spanning leadership roles across global news, digital media, and venture investment. He is currently Executive Chair of the Center for News, Technology & Innovation and managing general partner at NextNews Ventures, an early-stage investment firm focused on media, technology, and telecommunications.
Forman previously served as Chief Executive Officer of The McClatchy Company. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at major media and technology companies including Yahoo, Time Warner, CNN, and Dow Jones.
Forman worked at The Wall Street Journal as an editor in the London bureau and as Tokyo bureau chief, among other positions. While based in London as the Journal’s Deputy Bureau Chief, Forman was a member of the 1991 Persian Gulf War reporting team which later became a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
Forman has served as a board director at the American Press Institute and is former vice chair of the News Media Association. He is an advisory board member of USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy and was non-resident fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center from 2021-2023.
He holds a degree from Princeton University and a law degree from Yale Law School.
