The AP Fund for Journalism (APFJ) is welcoming more than 100 local newsrooms to our 2026 elections program, expanding access to AP election resources for communities across the country. These newsrooms join outlets already receiving APFJ support during this year’s elections, bringing the total number with access to these resources to over 200.
Through Dec. 31, participating newsrooms have access to AP coverage of U.S. politics, government and elections; live election results and ready-to-publish maps, tables and graphics; and reporting resources that can help journalists connect national and state developments to their own communities. APFJ is also providing training and support to help newsrooms make the most of the tools.
The goal is to complement the reporting these newsrooms already do. During this year’s primaries, participating outletssaid AP’s live results and graphics helped them spend less time managing statewide and federal results and more time reporting on the local races, candidates and issues their audiences depend on them to cover. Newsrooms also reported that election results pages helped them provide a useful destination for readers looking for timely information on election night.
