Support
APFJ
During the 2024 U.S. Elections, AP ran a successful local news partnership with Google and Knight Foundation. From those early beginnings the nonprofit AP Fund for Journalism was founded and a pilot program was launched in spring 2025 to support state and local news organizations.
Support for APFJ will fund the execution and refinement of our pilot program, followed by a national rollout to more than 300 outlets in 2026. This includes covering the costs of content licensing, investments in new coverage areas and provisioning of technology and service.
Your support will help to help transform local news organizations and the reach of public service journalism in the U.S. It will sustain a more viable local news ecosystem in America for the long term which will support civic life.
Support APFJ in advancing local news in America.

Every voice matters, and everybody in the U.S. democracy should enjoy free access to reliable information, join your voice to ours and advocate for APFJ.
